Clinical Supervision for Texas LMSWs
Current Clinical Studio provides structured clinical supervision for LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure in Texas.
Supervision is designed for social workers who want licensure support and clinical growth. Together, we examine clinical decision-making, identify areas for continued development, and strengthen the knowledge, judgment, and professional responsibility required for independent clinical practice.
Our structure is designed to support Texas LMSW clinical supervision requirements when the supervisee maintains eligibility, attendance, and required documentation.
Small-group clinical supervision
Groups are intentionally limited to four Texas LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure.
Two groups are offered. Both meet through live video for 75 minutes, three times a month, on the first, second, and third week of the month:
Tuesday group — 6:30–7:45 p.m. Central Time
Sunday group — 3:30–4:45 p.m. Central Time
One 60-minute individual supervision session is scheduled every other month.
Virtual supervision is available throughout Texas.
Limited in-person individual supervision may be available in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
At full attendance, this schedule meets the Council's 100-hour supervision minimum within the 24-month minimum period. Supervision continues until that minimum is met. Supervisees remain responsible for attendance, documentation, and overall licensure compliance.
Individual-only supervision
Supervision for LMSWs who need a schedule the group format cannot accommodate, whose caseload calls for sustained supervision, or who prefer to work one-to-one for the full course of supervision.
Supervision sessions are 60 minutes, held through live video, four times a month.
Session times are arranged directly.
Virtual supervision is available throughout Texas.
Limited in-person individual supervision may be available in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
At full attendance, this schedule meets the Council's 100-hour supervision minimum over 25 months. Supervision continues until that minimum is met. Supervisees remain responsible for attendance, documentation, and overall licensure compliance.

Meetings include focused case consultation, rotating clinical-development topics, discussion of urgent concerns, and follow-up steps or action items.

Hold an active Texas LMSW license and are pursuing LCSW licensure in Texas.
Want supervision that supports both licensure requirements and clinical growth.
Want to strengthen clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, case formulation, treatment planning, documentation, and intervention selection.

Value structure, preparation, accountability, and active participation.
Work in healthcare, behavioral health, aging services, long-term care, managed care, government, community programs, or veteran services, as long as the role supports supervised clinical social work practice.
Can obtain your employing agency's written approval to contract for outside supervision.
Fit is determined by the supervisee’s actual job duties, population, professional-development needs, and the supervisor’s ability to provide competent oversight. Final fit is determined after reviewing the supervisee’s license status, job description, setting, and clinical responsibilities.
Supervision Style
Clinical supervision is supportive and developmental, but it is also evaluative.
Supervisees are encouraged to ask questions, acknowledge uncertainty, and bring forward difficult cases. They are also expected to prepare, participate actively, respond to feedback, and take responsibility for their continued professional development.
Feedback is provided directly, respectfully, and with clear expectations.
Virtual meetings are conducted through live video in a private setting. Supervisees must participate from a private location and remain visible and engaged throughout the session.
Fees
Small-Group Supervision
$275 per month
The flat monthly fee includes:
Three 75-minute group supervision sessions each month.
One 60-minute individual supervision session every other month.
Additional individual supervision: $100 per 60-minute session
Individual-Only Supervision
$400 per month
The flat monthly fee includes:

Before You Apply: Important Eligibility Notes
Applicants must hold an active Texas LMSW license.
Supervision begins only after review of license status, job duties, practice setting, and supervision fit.
Supervisees are responsible for maintaining their own licensure records and compliance with Texas requirements.
A written supervision agreement and required documentation process are established before supervision begins.
Changes in employment, setting, or role must be disclosed promptly because they may affect supervision fit and compliance.
Employed applicants must obtain their employing agency's written approval to contract for outside supervision.
Before supervision begins, Current Clinical Studio reviews each applicant’s license, employment setting, job description, clinical responsibilities, and professional-development needs, and determines whether the role supports supervised clinical social work practice.

About the Supervisor
Tracie Smith, LCSW-S, is a Texas Council-approved clinical supervisor with more than 20 years of social-work experience across medical, aging, veteran services, government, managed-care, healthcare policy, and justice-involved systems. She has practiced clinically since 2012.
Her professional background includes clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, care coordination, complex discharge planning, investigating the treatment of vulnerable adults, long-term-care planning, survey and audit work in care facilities, and interdisciplinary practice.
Her supervision style is thoughtful, structured, direct, and grounded in the realities of practicing clinical social work within complex systems.
